How do I share a printer on a network?

To share a printer over a network in Windows XP, follow these steps:

1. Click Start.
2. Click Control Panel.
3. Click Printers and Faxes.
4. Right-click on the printer you would like to share.
5. Click Sharing.
6. Open the Sharing tab and click Share this Printer.
7. Type a Share Name for the Printer.
8. If you will be sharing the printer with others using different hardware or operating systems, click Additional Drivers.

• Select the environment and operating system for the additional computers.
• Click OK to install the additional drivers.

9. Click OK.  If you have installed additional drivers, click Close.

To stop sharing a printer, follow these steps:

1. Click Start.
2. Click Control Panel.
3. Click Printers and Faxes.
4. Right-click the printer you no longer want to share.
5. Click Sharing.
6. Open the Sharing tab.
7. Click Do Not Share this Printer.
